澳大利亚平肯巴，阿尔夫·博登在家养的独翅大猫头鹰海蒂。在Beerwah国家森林砍伐树木时，海蒂折断了翅膀，此后，博登先生和妻子从雏鸟开始一直把它养到七岁。
由克里斯·汉弗莱墨尔本野生动物行动小组圈养后，这些十二天大的青绿色小鹦鹉由人工饲养，专门用于儿童教育节目。
在匈牙利 Gyoengyoes动物园，人们看到雄性幼狮津巴和雄性波利犬波吉。津巴由一位捐赠人捐献，将由波吉养大。

在加沙城东部的Marah Land动物园里，一只被涂成斑马模样的毛驴在它自己的笼子里。2008年，Marah
Land动物园还是一个功能完善的动物园，但在以色列于1月展开攻势期间，90%的动物死亡。由于以色列和埃及封锁的限制，园方无法获得新的动物，除非它们通过地道偷运进来。因此，现在动物的种类不像以前那么多，但因为加沙地带缺乏娱乐资源，所以加沙人仍会涌向动物园。
在墨西哥卡拉克穆尔国家公园（Mexico Calakmul National Park）里，一只美洲豹（英文名：Jaguar；学名：Panthera

11月11日是第一次世界大战停战日，也是美国的退伍军人纪念日。美国总统奥巴马当天前往弗吉尼亚州的阿灵顿国家公墓向阵亡将士致敬。
目前在美国大约有2400万老兵，其中包括约200万曾在伊拉克或阿富汗服役的军人。
